Monitoring controlled environments is essential for documenting compliance with applicable standards, classifications, guidelines and cGMP requirements, including ISO 14698-1.

Requirements may include the collection efficiency of the equipment, sampling volume and the number of bacteria per cubic metre of air.

Air sampler calibration

Different principles are used for collecting airborne bacteria. Medico Support can calibrate most types of samplers and provide guidance on methods, equipment use and potential sources of error.

Slit samplers and air samplers can be calibrated as an accredited service. Depending on the equipment, calibration may include flow, time and volume.

Flow Calibration of the equipment’s suction capacity and airflow.
Time Verification and calibration of the equipment’s sampling time.
Volume Verification of the total volume of air collected during sampling.

Accredited measurement ranges

We can calibrate suction capacity as flow or volume within the following measurement ranges:

10–150 l/min Accredited flow calibration
0–10,800 seconds Accredited time calibration, corresponding to 0–3 hours

Laboratory and on-site calibration

Calibration is generally performed in our laboratories. For certain types of equipment and assignments, calibration can also be carried out on-site at the customer’s premises.

The work is performed by experienced specialists with up-to-date knowledge of relevant methods and applicable requirements. We also provide guidance on the selection and purchase of new measurement equipment.

Total service agreement

For selected types of equipment, we can provide a comprehensive service agreement tailored to the equipment and the customer’s requirements.
